College motivation and mindset is easily the most important part of being successful in college, and crucial to creating confidence. As a college professor, I speak with many students one-on-one about college success. We sometimes talk about content in courses I teach, but more often it is study strategies, mindset management, and how to create confidence. After only a few minutes of listening to a student talk about their studies, I can tell how easy it will be for them to be successful.
College motivation and mindset can also feel confusing to figure out, especially when you are stuck and not feeling motivated or confident. Sometimes we just feel completely overwhelmed and don’t know what to do next. What is the right next step to get motivated and start taking action?
Sometimes we need a quick fix because there is an assignment due right now and we have to complete it. We’ve all been there, scrambling at the last minute to complete something we put off far too long. :)
I want you to approach college motivation and mindset with long-term solutions, not just quick fixes. A solution requires clearly identifying what the problem is, finding the simple solution, and changing our approach moving forward. That’s where true confidence comes from! This process can be very confusing to get started on and the articles here help you approach a long-term solution from different angles.
My tip? Don’t try to fix or solve everything today. This approach is crazy cakes and won’t work. Instead, focus on solving just one problem. Solve it, live with the solution, feel how good and freeing it is, then move on to the next problem.
A college degree takes years to earn and it is a beautiful journey. If you work to be 1% better today than yesterday you will 100% achieve your goals.
