Motivation & Procrastination Questions
Truth Time: none of us want to study.
If you are waiting to feel motivated to read a textbook, you will never earn a degree. We all expect to feel motivated to complete a difficult assignment, but it isn’t realistic. Your motivation isn’t from the assignment. Your motivation stems from the future you are planning and working toward.
When you don’t feel like studying, focus on the future you’re going to have.
When you want to stop working, think of what your life will be like when you have your degree.
Right now, start building regular, daily habits that will keep you moving forward even when you aren’t feeling motivated.
You can do this!

Study Questions
I often get questions along the lines of “how do I study better”, and unfortunately I can’t answer that question for you. Your circumstances and situation are totally unique, snowflake! Here is my advice:
- Get honest with yourself. What are you really good at as a student? What do you struggle with as a student?
- Get specific. If you want specific advice you have to identify a specific problem.
- Search for an answer. Scroll down the page a bit and use the “Search this website…” field or the topics listed to look for an answer to your main challenge.
- Try something new. The first thing you try may not be your solution. Commit and give it a full week. If it isn’t working, try something else instead.
