The average college/university/graduate student today is balancing college and busy families. You may have returned to university later in life because you have a dream for a better future, or simply want more opportunities to support your family through higher education.
Whatever brought you back to college, it is still tough to balance school, work, and busy families. At times you will feel overworked, overwhelmed, and completely over it. If that’s where you’re at today, don’t give up! You absolutely can do it, but it isn’t easy.
You have to get creative about how you study and when you study, as there likely are no long blocks of free time in your schedule. Totally OK. I believe we don’t have to study eight hours a day to be successful in college. Instead, think about how to study while raising kids and fitting in study time at work (without getting fired).
When I have faced tough times in life, like working full-time as a full-time student or raising a newborn, it helped to stay focused on one phrase: “This is only a season of my life, not forever.”
